Ingredients:

Elder flowers (Sambucus nigra) are known to stimulate non-specific immune function, especially in the upper respiratory system. They are anti-catarrhal, and thus commonly used for many ailments of this system including influenza, lung congestion, colds, fevers, dry coughs, sinusitis, chronic nasal catarrh, and deafness due to chronic nasal catarrh. Elder flowers are commonly used for any catarrhal inflammation of the respiratory system, specifically the upper respiratory tract. They are often used alongside other herbs to reduce the duration and severity of flu symptoms.

Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) is well known for helping with upper respiratory catarrh, whether acute or chronic, and is listed as a specific for any low grade inflammation of the nasopharynx with persistent catarrh in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia (BHP). It is often used for congestion in the upper respiratory tract, in conditions like hay fever and sinusitis.

Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis) is best known as an herb that is specifically indicated for upper respiratory tract problems. It is valued for its positive effect on the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, sinuses and throat, helping to reduce mucous secretions, and generally support and strengthen the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract. Its commonly used for helping with a congested nose and sinuses, post-nasal drip and a chronic runny nose, whether due to a viral, bacterial or allergic cause.

Fenugreek seeds (Trigonella foenum-graecum) used in tea, have a reputation for reducing inflammation and breaking down mucous in the sinuses, throat and chest. They are a popular herb to use to help break up congestion due to allergy or sinus infection.

Ginger root (Zingiber officinalis) is well-known as a warming, circulatory stimulant with anti-microbial qualities. It is commonly used alone or along with other herbs to support the immune system in acute infections. As a circulatory stimulant it helps deliver the benefits of other herbs used around the body.
